Indigenous Tourism

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional and ancestral lands of the First Nations peoples of Treaty 6, Treaty 8, and Treaty 10 territories, including the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, and Nakota Sioux, as well as the Métis Settlements and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Districts 11, 12, 19, and 20 within the historical Northwest Métis Homeland. Lac La Biche County continues to be home to Indigenous peoples since time immemorial. We recognize the vital contributions of Indigenous culture, history, and perspectives in our shared past, present, and future. We also acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We make this acknowledgment in reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
