Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village
Experience history brought to life by costumed interpreters at our open-air museum. Hear the first-hand stories of early settlers to east central Alberta and learn how Ukrainian immigration impacted Alberta’s cultural identity and heritage.
Vegreville Regional Museum
You will learn about life in the Vegreville region since the 1890s: methods of agricultural cultivation and textile design both Ukrainian and Romanian, hospitals, schools and all that constitutes the legacy of the harmonious community life that reigns in Vegreville.
Elk Point Historical Mural
Coordinated by the Elk Point Historical Society, this 100 foot long mural was painted by local artist and history buff Billie Milholland and the community as a whole contributed with old photos, anecdotes, memories and as models for the dozens of personalities represented in the mural. From the Northwest Rebellion to the coming of the railroad, this mural truly depicts the good quality of life in the region, thanks to the local community, past and present.
UFO Landing Pad
Built in 1967, the Landing Pad stands for unity. Designed to educated, this site is an opportunity to view actual photographs of UFOs, crop circles and cattle mutilations. Adjacent to the Landing Pad, there is also the UFO tourist information centre, where you can enjoy a wonderful boutique shopping experience, representing over 50 local artisans. Local pottery, jewelry, paintings, and sculpture will be sure to spark inspiration as you find that perfect spot back home or at the cabin to display your new find! The kids will enjoy the weekly crafts as well as challenging scavenger hunts.
Historic Vilna Pool Hall & Barbershop
Step back in time at this 1921 pool hall and barbershop. Located on Vilna’s Historic Main Street, this jewel is known as Alberta’s oldest operating pool hall and barbershop. A Provincial Historic Resource, the only one of its kind in Alberta, it features four turn-of-the-century pool tables including two 12 foot Brunswick Balke Collender Snooker tables and two 8-foot Samuel May billiard tables.

Recipient of the United Nations 2010 International Women’s Day Awards in Art Education, Heather strongly believes in the principle of community and find it a personal joy to share her knowledge and experience. Her work embodies a love of simple, classic forms that reflect my close association with the earth, the creatures that inhabit it and the forces that rule it. Visit the working studio and get a behind the scenes peak of how pottery is created.
Murals of Legal
In 2011, the Town of Legal was recognized as the French Mural Capital of the World. Indeed, there are over 35 murals proudly displayed around Legal, showcasing the history of the region as well as Canada’s history. A BaladoDiscovery is available to accompany you while you walk through the town’s streets to discover Alberta’s pioneers’ history and the Francophone heritage of the Centralta region, situated North of Edmonton.
Prairie Spirit Alpacas
Prairie Spirit Alpacas is an alpaca farm raising Huacaya alpacas. The farm offers many products woven their alpaca yarn, including handwoven scarves and baby wraps, duvets, baby clothes, and felted soaps.
